What goes into the full bill?

Ask for a written total before paying. Put the visit, the medicine, any tests, and ongoing fees on the same page.

Keep in mind

Understand the complete cost

Six national websites offering online weight care were checked in September 2026; five listed monthly fees. All five described medicine as a separate cost.

The figures were advertisements on just a few websites. They cannot tell you what another service will charge.

Ask whether the quoted price includes the medicine. Then ask about visits, tests, delivery, and charges for ongoing care.

Keep an empty line beside anything the quote leaves unanswered.

Beyond the name you found

Read an introductory price all the way through

The $199 offer for semaglutide (Ozempic) shots appeared on a government price page when checked September 26, 2026. To use it, a new patient had to live in the US, be 18 or older, and pay outside insurance.

For this Ozempic offer, the maker counted a box containing one pen as a month’s supply.

A shot’s strength describes the quantity of medicine it holds. Ask for the strength written on your prescription when checking a price.

The $199 rate covered only the first two monthly supplies of either of the two lowest shot strengths. The reduced-price offer ran from November 17, 2025, through December 31, 2026.

Ask the pharmacy to confirm the price for each supply, especially near the offer’s end date.

After the offer, the three lower shot strengths were listed at $349 a month. The highest shot strength was $499 a month.

Ask whether your prescribed shot is one of the lower strengths or the highest, and what its later price would be.

These are medicine prices. They are not a quote for your whole care plan.

Cash-paying means paying outside insurance. Ask for the price of the actual product being discussed, both during and after any offer.

Keep in mind

Ask for a complete written quote

Including every required fee, what is due initially and what would I owe later?

Ask what changes that total, when charges repeat, and how cancellation works.

Compare the same parts of each plan

  • Visit or membership: what does it include?

  • Medicine: what exact product and form does the price cover?

  • Tests and delivery: included, separate, or still unknown?

  • Later care: what does a refill or another visit add?

  • Leaving the plan: what happens to prepaid fees?

Before the plan starts paying for covered care, it requires you to pay an amount called the deductible. The annual cap on your part of covered bills is called an out-of-pocket maximum.

As of September 2026, paying the maker’s cash price was outside insurance. Those payments did not count toward either your deductible or your yearly limit on covered bills.

Ask your plan how paying outside insurance affects your costs.
